Collab with Matthew Heller #3
This piece is around 9 X 13 inches and hangs vertically. A lot of people see different images in this piece, I think however you look at it, it’s gorgeous. The colored glass all comes from the same sheet of special antique art glass and has a breathtaking texture and coloring pattern to it.

Work Statement:
I tend to overthink a lot in everyday life, and I have tried to avoid that with my recent art. My goal is to simply make, feel, intuit, without thinking or judging too much. While I obviously can't eliminate thinking entirely, I try to build systems that let me quickly get into flow and create.
I work primarily in a digital space. I make quick thumbnail sketches and recreate them with Adobe Illustrator, trying to produce one of a kind compositions that emphasize symmetry, lines, and "perfect" forms. I'm currently exploring the endless potential of splitting a simple rectangle into a multitude of other shapes.
Even before Katy and I began to collaborate, I thought of these rectangles as windows or portals. While I haven't quite figured out what's on the other side, it has been really exciting to see Katy's skill in working with glass to bring these digital compositions into the real world.
